Can I buy a policy to visit Russia or Ukraine?

Yes, many US travel insurance providers sell policies to cover trips to both Russia and Ukraine. However, the availability of benefits can change at any time as the situation continues to unfold.

While a policy can currently be purchased, it most likely will not provide any coverage for losses related to the ongoing war, as this is a general policy exclusion.

If a provider determines they are unable to remit payment to these countries as a result of government sanctions, or safely provide other benefits, they may exclude these countries from coverage outright on any future purchased policies.
