Can I still buy travel insurance for my trip to Orlando?
You can still purchase a travel insurance policy for travel to Orlando.
Any policies purchased on or after June 12, 2016, will not provide coverage for any losses related to the Pulse nightclub mass shooting in Orlando on June 12. This means you cannot buy a policy now to cancel an upcoming trip to Orlando because of the June 12 Orlando terrorist attack.
However, policies purchased after June 12 will typically provide coverage for any future terrorist events. Some policies will not provide cancellation coverage for a terrorist attack if a previous attack occurred in the same city within the past 90 days.
We recommend taking a close look at the policy language for Terrorism coverage if you are looking to purchase travel insurance for a trip to Orlando within three months of the June 12 attack. Read the Terrorism policy wording for every policy available on Squaremouth.
