Can travel insurance cover me if my home is in a hurricane’s path?

Last Updated: — 1 min read

You may be covered by your travel insurance policy if a hurricane hits your home.

Many policies with Trip Cancellation offer coverage if your primary residence is rendered uninhabitable or inaccessible due to a hurricane. In order to have coverage, you must have purchased a Trip Cancellation-style policy before the storm was named.

If your home is damaged and you meet your policy’s cancellation requirements, you may be reimbursed for 100% of your prepaid and non-refundable trip expenses.
