Am I covered to cancel if there’s a terrorist attack at my destination?

Last Updated: 1 min read

You may be covered to cancel if there is a terrorist attack at your destination or departure location, as long as your policy includes Terrorism coverage and you bought your policy before the incident occurred.

To be eligible for coverage, policies generally require that the terrorist attack occurred in a city listed on your itinerary, or within a certain number of miles of that city. The terrorist attack also must have occurred within 30-90 days of your scheduled departure date.

Some policies state that there cannot have been a previous terrorist attack within 90 days of the one that is causing you to cancel. Depending on the policy, you may be required to purchase it within a certain amount of time after your initial trip booking to be eligible for this coverage.
