Although Aruba no longer requires travelers to obtain Aruba Visitors Insurance, it may still be wise to purchase a travel insurance policy when visiting the Caribbean destination, especially if your health insurance doesn’t provide coverage outside of the country.
Squaremouth recommends a comprehensive travel insurance policy for travelers visiting Aruba. This type of policy will provide cancellation coverage for the traveler’s trip expenses, additional medical coverage in the event of an illness, injury or evacuation, luggage benefits, and travel delay coverage.
In addition to Emergency Medical coverage, Trip Cancellation is the main reason most travelers going to Aruba buy a comprehensive policy. This benefit can reimburse 100% of a traveler’s prepaid and non-refundable trip costs if they need to cancel for a covered reason, such as not being able to travel because they are sick with Covid-19 or another illness. On average, these policies cost between 5% and 10% of the traveler’s total trip cost.
