Departure and Return Dates with Travel Insurance
When obtaining a travel insurance quote, you’ll be asked to provide your departure date and return date. This helps providers calculate your effective date and the day that your coverage comes to an end. Most travel insurance policies cover from for the duration of your trip, while others will provide pre-departure benefits like Trip Cancellation or Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR).
Even if there are multiple stops on a trip, your travel dates will still be used to determine how long your coverage will be active. Returning home early from your trip will end the travel insurance policy early. This is the case with interruption that causes the trip to end sooner than expected, once the guest returns home, all coverage stops at that time. Always refer to the certificate of insurance for details.
