Customer Reviews for Global Alert

Claim was received by Trip Mate (Global Alert) on October 19, 2017. After October 27 2017 nothing happened. I checked the travel claims online website regularly. No additional information was requested from me. When I would call, the representative told me nothing more than was on the website and that the claim was still being processed. I was told before I filed the claim that it would take about 30 days. Squaremouth send me an email asking if I was satisfied with how the claim was handled. I replied that I had not received a decision and that nothing had happened since October 27, 2017.
On December 20, 2017 after Squaremouth talked with their contact at Trip Mate the claim was approved. The Travel Claims Online website activity page showed that the final payment was printed on December 21, 2017, but the payment page did not show the date of the check, the check number, etc. I called on January 4, 2018 and was told payment should be received in a day or two. I asked why the payment page did not show anything. I was told it was probably a computer glitch. When I got the check I saw that the envelope was postmarked January 4, 2018, the day I called!
I am glad that Squaremouth has a Zero Complaint Guarantee and that they mediated on my behalf.

Contacted your company to express my intent to file a claim on October 16th.Your staff assured me that she would send out some paperwork for me to complete. But upon my return, there were no paperwork delivered.
Now, I will have to start all over again..

I am very unhappy with Global Alert. I had to cancel the trip and submitted the claim on October 17, 2017. To this date only the " claim folder" has been printed for I can check that on line. I have tried to contact them several times. They are so busy that they don't call back for twenty fur hours and then whenever it is is convenient for them. I have yet to speak to them, It is a very bad service and I will never use them again. I just hope I eventually get my money.

After 2 and a half months after complete and clear submission of a claim, they denied my claim for something that is irrational but maybe technically they are allowed to do. Do to the minor amt I have not investigated further, other than to know I will never give Global my money again. My suitcase is still ruined and there is pages of documentation but since I did not file within the airlines time frame (but as soon as physically possible) since it was absolutely impossible to do so within the airline's timeframe, the insurance company should have picked up the slack. They then used the airlines excuse and then blamed me for not filing with the airline company within their time frame, when it was impossible to do so. That is why you need insurance, but in this case they denied a claim for a piece of luggage that was ruined by either the airport or the airline. Thank heavens for Squaremouth as they picked up part of the cost. I have a policy with Global purchased already but will never use them again after getting my chain pulled for months then denied. If it was more money and Squaremouth had not stepped up I would fight this till the ends of the earth on principal, but will not since Squaremouth did their best to ease the loss. I buy insurance for all travel and will not use Global Alert ever again and will remain irritated over their denial . I do not blame Squaremouth, but Global Alert for their lack of customer service ability and rational thought when reviewing a claim. There is no choice to give zero stars unfortunately. Please note the Zero Complaint team needs more personnel hired as they are good, but it is hard to get an appointment with them and hard to schedule.

My trip was to St Martin. We were to go on a Catamarin trip in the area. Due to the hurricane Irma the trip was moved to the Island of Guadeloupe etc.
I w as refused by the airline to change or even get credit for the flight Miami to St Martin. As a result I put in a claim for the air fare. About 3 weeks later I got a credit direct from American airlines so I cancelled my claim. I must say that the service from Global etc was great and responsive. Squaremouth is the best.
I love the way I can do comparisons etc.
keep it up.

This was not my first experience with Global Alert. I was impressed this time that they allowed me to make a change when I had selected the wrong policy at the beginning. Customer Service was very helpful. Thank you.

I am not ready to evaluate this company as I have a pending claim and would prefer to wait until it has been settled to comment. I will say that the online claim procedure is very confusing and not well explained at all.
