During Trip I had a heart attack during my trip. After sending all the information to the Insurance, I would keep getting notices from them that they wanted my passport copy, which had been sent to them with every bill. I also got notices from the Insurance company that they were waiting for information from the Hospital. When I called the Insurance company, the agents would tell me that the copies of my passport were with them and they had received some documentation from the Hospital. Then I started getting bills and notices from the Hospital saying they would send the bills to a collection agency if they were not paid within a certain time. This was all so stressful to deal with after having undergone a heart attack. The Insurance was so prompt to charge my account and take payment but service and follow through was a different matter. To date, March 2, 2010 claims that I had sent in for an operation in December have not been paid.
Claim Process I had put all information about my age and all previous health conditions. I had a by-pass done 10 years ago. The insurance agency gave me the insurance and was quick to charge me for their charges. No one likes to undergo hospitalization and no one expects or wants a heart attack. Unfortunately when that happens, the Insurance agency should step up to the plate and pay promptly not subject the patient to more tension by not paying the bills.

Before Trip I bought this policy the day I was leaving as an after thought. I received email confirmation and details instantly and was very pleased with the peace of mind it provided.
During Trip I never needed to use it.

Claim Process Company did not pay full amount paid to doctor. First agent said it was for trip interruption when EOB and claim handler indicated it was for medical. Claim handler was extremely rude and indicated amount paid was not doctor;s handwriting when it most definitely was--how offensive. Wanted cash register receipt as proof when doctor visitied hotel room--how was that possible? Paid for $20,000 trip interruption, but she said a missed day because of illness (with doctor diagnosis) does not quality as trip interruption.
