Generali has denied my claim because my husband has had arthritis for years and because he visited a doctor before our trip they have denied the claim. We have traveled oversees for 30 plus years and only his time did his arthritis both him. I am only asking for $1600 back instead of the 8000+ our insurance policy was for because both Delta Airlines and Priceline (even though they said we were not entitled to a refund) actually felt that we had such a claim that they issued us a credit. I will never purchase insurance through Generali again. They are cheaters. I am still working with my doctor because the reason we were not able to take our trip was because of pain in my husband foot after his ankle fushion. The pain is in the top of the foot not the ankle. That has healed perfectly. My husband is getting shot that seem to be working and if that should not work the doctor will go back in and cut the nerve on the top of the foot. The extreme pain occurred after the ankle fushion.

The GGA website for filing a claim did not work properly. After initial claim information submission, it would not allow uploading of the documents required and that we collected. We sent our documents via email, as instructed, but kept receiving emails from GGA that they didn’t have our submissions. It took several calls to find out there was a person (with a Name and Telephone Number!) that we could call whenever we had problems with the website or received incorrect emails.
That individual (a woman whose name I no longer have) managed to get all our paperwork together for a successful outcome, and we have received our claim check. She was amazing, whereas nothing else about the GGA process worked.

I found it difficult to find a phone number where I could get to talk to a live person. Once I found it the persons were helpful. The online claim filing is difficult for a non tech 75 year old as I. The online site I found hyper sensitive, glitchy. I filed a TRAVEL DELAY claim and it was resolved in 24 hours and I am awaiting the "check in the mail." I just filed a TRIP INTERRUPTION claim. It has been submitted and I waiting for the notice of resolution.

Outstanding service and support. Answered phone quickly when I called. Sounded genuinely concerned about my health. Assured me I would be covered for extra expenses. I received a Zelle reimbursement for medical expenses the next day after I filed.

Generali Global Assistance is slow in responding to claims, and their claim portal has limitations on the size of documents that can be attached. Therefore, I had to send an email to the claims address with the required documents.
I filed my first claim under the Trip Interruption. Because they denied the airfare I lost due to the interruption, I filed the airfare costs under the Trip Cancellation. I filed this 2nd claim one week ago and have heard nothing from Generali.
