The response was very slow. I used the contact options on the website, and there was no response at all. This includes contact during my trip, in a circumstance where I had been told to contact my insurer immediately if I anticipated filing a claim. I made immediate contact and heard nothing back.
I finally found another contact email using a Google search, rather than the link on the website, and this finally got me a response. Since then, I've repeatedly been given processing times for my claim -- your files will be reviewed in 3 days, your claim will be processed in 10 days, etc. -- that have not turned out to be accurate.
I most recently received an email with a list of the documents that I uploaded. This is the only update I've had on my claim in several weeks, and it's the same list I received as a confirmation when I first uploaded the documents. This does not inspire confidence.

we were not allowed to board the flight to curacao on 1/1/22; this was caused by a missing COVID-19 document, which on the official website of the curacao govt. CLEARLY shows that this could have been resolved on arrival at HATO airport.
    this cost us:

    LODGING: $481.25
    Uber : 177.15
    Taxi : 50.00
    Vaxx : 400.00

    Total : $1,058.40.

Since these costs are totally COVID-19 related I expect these to be covered by your policy.

There is nowhere on our website, the SquareMouth website, or in our policy’s Description of Coverage document that it says the policy covers any “COVID-related” expense. Should an insured, family member, or traveling companion test positive for COVID, there are a number of benefits that would apply.

However, there is no travel insurance policy that covers expenses originating from not receiving your test results in time to board a flight.

I am trying to make a claim on a hotel room & some purchased food. I was never able to use my hotel reservation because my flight was canceled out of Denver and I missed my connection in Mexico City. I think it is unfortunate that the flight cancellation has to be specifically due to weather or mechanical. You had stated that the travel insurance was updated to help with Covid problems. My flight was canceled due to "adjustments in our operations". You did not update your flight cancelation acceptance to help with Covid problems. This was not specifically stated in the insurance. I am disappointed by this fact.

I needed communication during the claims process. Despite many voicemails left and emails sent to my claim handler, and their supervisor, I never received any return messages or calls. This was VERY frustrating as the process took weeks longer than I was expecting.

I sent an inquiry back on 01/24/22 & 01/29/22 via online with your website and various emails listed below to submit a claim for missed tour events and rebooked flights for my Egypt-Dubai 2021-2022 trip and have not received a reply back. Your claims process is not good.

Still waiting to hear from adjuster. We were told 2-3 days and it’s been almost 10 days. This makes me very nervous. Would appreciate communication. It was easy to buy the insurance, but so far I’m unsatisfied with the claims process.

Your customer service to be helpful when I was stranded with COVID in Buenos Aires - that part was good and you helped me get retested so I could get home. Now, I am having a little trouble filing the claim. The portal for uploading claim receipts and forms was not working and I was told I could either send it in by mail or email to my claim specialists email. That took a few more phone calls, but I was finally able to email the forms. Still waiting to hear what will happen.

Yes, we were having some brief issues with our claims portal that was not allowing some users to upload their backup documentation. That issue was identified & corrected yesterday afternoon at 4 pm ET. Please feel free to upload your documents there now if you would like. Otherwise, I’m sure the email you sent will suffice as well. Be sure to let us know if you have any additional issues. Thanks.
