The claims process was relatively easy. My only problem was that delivery of my claims package to April was delayed because no one was available in the office to accept the delivery from Fed Ex. (Christmas holidays, but the office was supposed to be open/staffed.) It took three attempts to deliver and Fed Ex finally just left the package at the door. (Good thing I mailed it in advance of the deadline). Approximately 30 days after April's receipt of my claims forms, I received notice that the payment would be sent. Several days later, I received the check.

Seemed to take a long time but they did have currency exchange issues to contend with.

Everything was fine except for the fact that the airline lost my baggage and it was delayed more than 24 hours. Items were taken from my luggage. Which resulted in me having to make a claim. I have not heard back yet and I am beginning to get concerned about the claim. If you could assist it would be Greatly appreciated. Thank you

My attempt to reach April's 24 hour customer service on Christmas Day was a joke. Line dropped when CSR was on the line - after holding for about 5 minutes. I called back TWICE, was on hold about 15 minutes each time and then received a fast, busy signal before the line disconnected! NOT 24 hour service! We were stranded in Houston and had to handle EVERYTHING on our own. I even sent an email to them to make them aware of our upcoming claim. Never received a reply, so I called again a few days later to file our claim. We'll see how this goes!

We were not given any information concerning the details of the different insurances. The details would have determined which insurance we purchased. We had to make several phone calls to try to understand exactly what coverage we had purchased.
We felt this inadequacy really affected our choices.
On a positive note, when we did call, the ladies were very patient and polite.

APRIL did not acknowledge receipt of my claim for 30 days after I mailed it. However, after that moved along well. We would use APRIL again.

I had two policies with April Travel Protection, one an annual policy and another to cover what isn't covered in the annual policy. I had two back to back trips. I was hospitalized two days into the first program and the doctor advised me to go home to recover there. I already had medical and flight home insurance from my travel company so I didn't apply for that reimbursement. But I filed two claims, one for the trip that was interrupted and one for the program I had to cancel. For the canceled program, I was paid everything that I lost. For the interrupted program, I got back about $200 less than I had claimed, but I wasn't sure how to go about figuring the amount go claim. My one complaint is that they told me they would send an explation of how the reimbursement amount was figured, but I never received it.

Squaremouth is a great site. Squaremouth enabled us to find a policy appropriate to our needs. Unfortunately, our trip was delayed by two days because of a Lufthansa strike. We took most of a day when we returned to file a claim with all the required paperwork and receipts. Several weeks later we received checks in the mail from April (Seven Corners) for 50% of the amount we claimed, with no explanation whatsoever. We called Seven Corners to ask why we did not receive the full amount and an itemized statement of what was approved. One week later we called again and were told additional checks were in the mail.

We should not have had to ask for a detailed explanation--it should have been included in the first letter from Seven Corners. The process with Seven Corners made us wonder (a) if their in-house policy is to approve 50% in a perfunctory way and hope the customer just accepts that figure and goes away, (b) whether in fact the "claims adjuster" even read our full page narrative with receipts. In the end, they gave us an "acceptable" amount (though less than our claim) with a brief explanation. I'm sure there are worse insurance companies, but Seven Corners (April VIP) could upgrade its act.

We will definitely look at Squaremouth again, and maybe Seven Corners/April.
