I am sorry I did not purchase the car insurance offered when I purchased my travel plan . If anyone out there going to rent a camper in Iceland I highly recommend it. We had a minor accodent just to find out the insurance provided by the car company had a deductible and all car companies have it . So, if you are going to Iceland and renting a car do yourself a favor and get it.

Hold times to inquire about processing a claim were extremely long and once I got to speak with a live body, they could not help me because they needed a different policy # that was not given to me. It was not very efficient.

I have purchased travel insurance policies through Squaremouth in the past, but have never needed to make a claim before. On my last trip, I purchased a TripMate TripAssure Bridge policy. TripAssure had a great website and seemed to be highly rated.
Unfortunately, I broke my leg while on my trip and was taken to the hospital in Mexico. It was a compound fracture and I was told I needed surgery. I contacted the TripAssure 24-hour assistance to try and get a guarantee of payment for the hospital. The representative I spoke to was very nice but despite her assurances, the hospital never received anything. After several hours of making calls to TripAssure, the hospital was on the verge of kicking me out so I produced my credit card and went into surgery. Following surgery, I decided to recuperate in my hotel room and take my original flight back rather than try to get any sort of medical repatriation. I submitted a claim within two weeks of the accident for the surgeon, anesthesiologist, hospital and prescription ***** (~$12,500). That was four months ago.
TripAssure has a very sleek claims website that shows I've submitted a claim, that it was forwarded to the claims department 1.5 months after I submitted it and that nothing (except my calls) has happened since.
I would say that it is great insurance as long as you don't need to use it. At that point, the false insurances become a nightmare.

I broke my leg in Mexico and it required surgery. After four months of waiting for my claim to be processed, I contacted SquareMouth and they had the issue resolved within a week. I highly recommend buying through Squaremouth.

Great customer service. I felt confident that I had a great policy just in case I needed to file a claim. Fortunately, I had no need to file a claim.

I am in the process of gathering all the data required to file my claim. I think I have all that's needed. Spoke to a representative at Trip Assure who was very helpful and in fact turned me over to another department who reaffirmed my reading and understanding of the policy I purchased. I have the coverage I thought I had. The coverage is in fact "Primary" medical ( Plan AR795C ) and they pay first, thus superseding other coverages. I just have to submit the completed claims form along with the required documentation. Hope to do so by tomorrow.

My husband called trip assure from Canada after the injury occurred to open a claim; they were very busy at the time so told him it would be easier to file the claim online rather than to do on the phone. So that is what he did after we paid the bills and had returned back home a couple of days later.
He did then file a claim online with trip assure & submitted the bills approximately 2 to 2 1/2 weeks ago; we heard back via email that they received the claim but we have not heard anything further yet. The claim was for a broken arm and the medical services received in Canada while under trip assure coverage.
