I am very pleased with the way my claim was handled, yet would point out that timeliness is extremely important. I took sick the night before traveling to the airport where we were staying, before catching an early morning flight the next day. I saw my Dr. on travel day, who had me come back the next day for further diagnosis and treatment. In the interim I called APRIL and received medical forms to take with me to that next Dr.'s appointment. On the day I would have flown out, I was in the Dr.'s office and they filled out the paperwork stating that I was unable to make the trip. In reviewing my policy for Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption Coverage, it states "that a Physician must advise cancellation of the covered trip on or before the Scheduled Departure Date." I was very grateful that I had the forms with me on the day of departure, but wonder how it would have gone if I had been admitted to the hospital the night before or had gotten on the plane and didn't have the opportunity to contact APRIL Travel Protection when I did. I had pneumonia and found it difficult to tend to these matters.
Once my claim was filed, it was handled promptly and efficiently. There was very good followup by APRIL when the claims adjuster requested additional information and my response wasn't properly copied to them. I will definitely continue to use SquareMouth to fill my travel insurance needs and recommend APRIL Travel Protection for fair, prompt coverage.

It was a comfort knowing our expensive flight-cruise-flight was protected with APRIL Travel Protection. The policy was very comprehensive and offered everything we needed. Luckily, we had an uneventful trip and did not have to make any claims. We will consider Travel Protection with APRIL for our next big trip and recommend APRIL to our friends & family.

After talking to the company prior to my delayed trip, I was pessimistic that I would be made whole in my claim, but I was very happy when I received my reimbursement of almost four times the amount I expected. I am very glad to recommend April insurance.

I got stuck because of the snow storm in January and this caused a 3 days delay for us to get back home. I put in a claim to April while 2 other families that were with us put a claim to other companies. The other families got their full reimbursements within about 3 weeks. My claim took over 2 months while I had to keep calling back otherwise they never contact me back. Eventually I got reimbursement but not for my full claim.
Gave it 2/3 stars only because eventually I got something otherwise the experience with them is barely 1 star!
