I was told that I would be receiving claim forms. I have yet to receive them.

I never went on the trip.
I did not take trip insurance just med evav. no pressure form agent to take or not to take - Was not his call - It was mine
Something happened to my ankle 2 weeks prior to departure . Xrays & MRI determined that it would not be wise to travel on a Hiking type trip with a damaged ankle : (

I'd prefer to talk to Squaremouth employees directly instead of the insurance company when increasing coverage to cover accumulating vacation trip costs and for other reasons. This used to be Squaremouth's policy. It's changed and now I have cause to check out Squaremouth's competitors.

it was a complete run around with global alert / trip mate. I emailed all the info and forms and proof. Waited the number of weeks they said it would take, then I called them. They said just because i sent it does not mean they received it. I sent it delivery and read receipt. from that I got the name of the person who read my claim. It took several calls and follow ups on my part to stay on top of them. I had to threaten to contact my state insurance department to get results. they did not update the site with all of my calls and info, they just entered what they wanted to. The insurance was not accepted for some of my medical treatment and I had to pay out of pocket and file a claim to be reimbursed. I seriously do not know if they should even be in business - claiming that they did not get my claim, when I had a delivery receipt. Each department did not know what the other departments were doing with my claim, and when I asked to speak with the department that they said probably had my claim, I was told they do not take calls and would not call me back. EVERY time I wanted something, I learned, I had to ask for a supervisor to call me back, and took 2 business days (usually while I was at work they would call). And, there call was not the answer to my questions or an update on my claim, just a message to call the main number again. I felt like they thought I was stupid and would fall for their deceptive delays. I wonder how many people they mistreated and did not pay. I will NEVER purchase anything from them ever again! I hope you drop them and remove them from your insurance choices. If any other insurances you offer are like this, let me know so I can avoid them. If I do experience this again from insurance purchased through you, it will be the last time I buy from you or use your site. I would NOT recommend tripmate or global alert or american modern - all poor companies with no customer respect. They made me very sad about my purchase and what I had to go through to get them to even just admit that they received my claim. They are all liars, cheats, and thieves - buyer beware!!! Do yourself a favor and remove them from your list. They deserve zero stars, or a negative rating.

Trip was cancelled due to weather & plane cancelled. Called you, could not complete form on line ( I do not have Adobe Reader & found sight to not be secure). I was told on 2/9 that you would mail out forms. A week later I called again & was told it was mailed out. It was never received. My friend who recommended your insurance made me a copy of your forms & I mailed them out this week, certified, since you were being dishonest with me. Please respond.

I had a skiing accident at the beginning of my Canadian vacation week. The Travel Services Network I contacted should be retitled the Travel Aggravation Network. I should note that the main agent who helped me was pleasant enough to deal with but their policies are frustrating. They have a requirement that a physician's 'fit to fly' form is only valid for 72 hours. Consequently, rather than being able to take a non-stop flight home with a group of friends who could have provided additional assistance, I was required to take a connecting flight with one travel companion. There was a one-day difference - and now they will have to reimburse me for my missed hotel night.
I am now in the process of completing the claim forms. One of the most non-sensical documents they requested is my proof of payment for the trip insurance premium!! If I hadn't paid the premium, would they have sent me and my companion home first class? Would they have sent me the claim forms?? Where is the common sense factor?

Have not heard anything from the company since I sent in the paperwork in February when I got back from our cruise. Not even a note saying they got it , it was denied, nothing. It was a doctor bill from ship doctor and I did not send credit card bill, as ship bill was paid with credit card, but have not heard anything to that either.

I always use Squaremouth for booking my travel insurance.
This time marked the first time I actually got sick on my vacation in Thailand. Back in the US I filed a $35 claim (yes, health care is much cheaper outside the US) and quickly received confirmation that I could expect a decision on my case within the next business day.
By the time they (it is Tripmate who handles Global Alert's claims) had actually processed my claim and I received the check - it was about 8 weeks later. Very dissatisfied how this was handled. I do not have a problem with waiting for the refund, however this company never returned my phone calls or answered any of my emails. There is zero communication. Even the online status was incorrect for the majority of the time.

So far very good. I filed a claim on Monday, February 13th. Outcome of claim will finally determine Global Alert rating. I am willing to answer any questions Global Alert may have regarding the claim that will speed the processing.
