    The only slight glitch I had, prior to leaving on our trip, was trying to add some additional coverage; service rep advised me to email the change request, which I did, but I received no response/confirmation. Tried his twice with no luck. Finally, the rep on the phone made the change for me. Everything else went well; am now waiting on the processing of my claim.

    We were forced to cancel our trip due to the mandatory evacuation of our community because of Hurricane Matthew. The Global Alert customer services representative was able to confirm to us that our claim would be paid provided that we were able to send written documentation of the mandatory evacuation (which we did).

    The only difficulty in dealing with the representative was that our policy type and number was not clearly noted on the paperwork I had. It took her a while to locate the necessary information in order to check whether mandatory evacuations were covered. In the future, it would be helpful if the paperwork provided to customers had all required information clearly noted.

    It remains to be seen whether our claim will be paid - I mailed it on Friday, Oct. 14th and have heard nothing since.

    My refund was short about $250. When I called to question it, the customer service agent indicated that the cruise company notified Global that it had sent us a refund in that amount. But it didn't. Your agent was not very pleasant explaining that my problem was with the cruise company rather than with Global. However, in every other regard (ease of submitting claim and speed of claim processing), we were entirely pleased.

    The policy for our needs. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. It was very easy. I would definitely recommend
    Global Alert to anyone with extensive travel plans.

    I had a question having to do with the possibility of adding the cost of a hotel stay to our plan. (I'd not included the price of this non-refundable pre-paid stay when I initially purchased our travel insurance.) But, I could never connect with a live person in the customer service department. Very frustrating! I finally gave up and just took a chance with the insurance that we already had.

    please always read the fine print, because travel in a country that has a military coup is not considered a terrorist action and not covered. Also not covered within 50 miles and 30 days, buyer beware!!!

    I was planning to file a claim for a delayed flight and then I received compensation form the airline. When I called to inquire about making a claim, Global Alert's people were very helpful.
