I spoke with a representative for assistance in making a decision on the best policy for our needs. He was very helpful and didn’t attempt to oversell us. I will continue to use your company for our travel insurance needs.

They listened but weren’t able to help us much. Advised us to just get another hotel and deal with paperwork later when we got home. We were stuck in a typhoon. Not sore if anyone could have helped at that point. Filing claim now. We were safe that’s most important

I felt the plan was just what I needed to protect me in the event I needed to cancel my overseas trip due to my father's illness. As it turned out, I didn't need to use the coverage, but I still needed a secondary form of insurance required by the travel company for emergency evacuation and/or sending my remains back to the U.S., should the worst happen. I did make a few inquiries on the insurance for clarification before purchasing. The customer service representative answered my questions in a courteous and respectful manner.

Thus far, interactions have been cordial and productive. I expect the same to continue once I file my claim.

I tried to change my policy for travel within 24 hours (12) because the trip was cancelled and moved to October and I was not allowed to do it, even though I booked the wrong date by accident.

The plans provide a 14 day free look that states: If You are not satisfied for any reason, You may cancel insurance under this Policy by giving the Company or the agent written notice within the first to occur of the following: (a) 14 days from the Effective Date of Your Insurance; or (b) Your Scheduled Departure Date. If You do this, the Company will refund Your premium paid provided no Insured has filed a claim under this Policy.

After taking a further looking into your claim, it appears that unfortunately, your request to cancel the policy was not received prior to your scheduled departure date; therefore, the premium is non-refundable. We apologize for any inconveniences you have experienced, and hope that you will consider us for your future travels. Please contact us if you need any further clarification, we would be happy to help.

Thoroughly dissatisfied with the experience we had with Travel Insured International and Squaremouth Despite filing a detailed statement explaining why we were requesting a full reimbursement of our $15,000 insurance policy that we purchased to insure our cruise trip. It was our impression that the policy afforded us a 100% reimbursement for cancellation.
Our claim was denied because TII ruled that our claim was covered under the "travel delay "provision of the policy. Despite arguing vociferously that our inability to take the cruise was related to extenuating circumstances over which we had no control---cancellation of an airline flight , medical issues, unacceptable replacement travel options, difficult land travel requirements. We had no choice than to cancel our participation in the cruise.
The agent who sold us the policy and the policy itself was less than transparent in the insurance coverage that we purchased.
As two plus 80 years old , we were appalled that we have been treated with little understanding and compassion to rectify our denied claim.
We are still in conversation with ITT and Squaremouth.

    Review Updated: 10/23/2018

With my wife and I being over 80 , I am appalled at the manner in which our insurance claim was handled by Travel Insured Internstional. There was a total lack of compassion and empathy in settling our claim. I dealt with six or seven claim clerks , all of whom repeated that under the policy my claim was addressed as Travel Delay and we were reimbursed $1200 as opposed to our $15,000 claim under the policy. Travel Delay implies that we were able to continue the trip. The travel arrangement that was proposed to continue the trip was totally unacceptable for two individuals ,82 and 85 years old. One of whom had serious medical issues - two recent aneurysms and a serious ankle bone spur that required a wheelchair to travel. To continue the trip we would have to fly to Seattle via United the next day; transfer to an Alaska Airline flight in Seattle and fly to Ketchikan ; land on an island ; take a ferry to the mainland; check into a hotel; wait for the cruise ship to arrive two days later; make our way to the departure pier and wrestle with our baggage . All of which we deemed to be not only impractical but much too difficult for two seniors who are in excess of 80 years old. So we had no choice other than to cancel the cruise. So this was not a TRAVEL DELAY but a cancellation . To continue the trip as proposed was not only impractical but physically impossible. The purpose in taking a cruise was to avoid the need to move during a land trip. The ship would be our base.
I am shocked by the lack of compassion and empathy by Travel Insured International in its effort to settle this claim for more than the $1200 granted. Representatives of TII continue to say that the policy only provides the amount awarded while that might be true I am sure that extenuating circumstances in the past have allowed TII and/or Crum and Foster to stray from the policy and negotiate a good business settlement with the policy holder.

Our ship was originally scheduled for a 2-1/2 day stop in Bermuda. Because of Hurricane Florence, we were diverted to Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, and Freeport. Freeport was ultimately cancelled to make our return to Baltimore without running into the remains of Florence. Although we suffered no luggage loss, delays or unrefunded exursions, we had no basis for a claim. However, the amount paid for the original itinerary as opposed to the one received was substantially different. However, I don't believe it is considered reason for a claim.
