Good criteria were provided to make the initial selection, online chat was very helpful when I had questions.
Making the purchase was also easy. I did not need to make a claim, so can't speak to how that process works.

I had never purchased traveler's insurance for a big trip before. I did a lot of research to understand what I was buying, what kind of coverage was important to have, etc. One thing I learned - a lot of options disappear for you if you don't buy traveler's insurance within a few days of booking your trip - which is a problem if you aren't sure what you need. In the end, because I was having surgery about 10 weeks before we left on our trip, I bought the only policy still available to me that covered preexisting health conditions. The Squaremouth website was helpful in sorting through options and policies and making purchase easy. Thankfully we had no issues with anything on the trip and didn't need to use our insurance. My only complaint would be that I didn't know how to add rental car insurance with my husband as the driver rather than me. I didn't catch that problem until two days before we left and they weren't answering their phones even though it was during office hours.

We had to charge our departure and return dates, that did not change the total number of trip days, and received an emailed revised/corrected Purchase Confirmation the same day that I called to request the change. There was no additional cost for this change in the previously issued insurance policy.

First travel insurance purchased for a vacation. Only purchased medical coverage. Before leaving, I called customer service to ask the procedure to file a claim while traveling in Mexico. Nice staff person explained the procedure to follow in different scenarios that I asked about. Gave me some peace of mind regarding illness or injury during my trip. Did not need to file claim, so no feedback on the usage of this policy, thankfully!

Not informed that policy is not renewable. Can not be extended even if trip is prolonged. No
Mention of renewable policy. Real important to know. Planned 7 day trip evolved into 10 days. No insurance for 3 days. Not good.

Agent on the phone did not know the answer to my question.
I was placed on hold while the agent tried to get an answer to my question.
After 45 - 60 minutes on hold without the agent coming back to talk with me I finally hung up.
