1. We planned our trip to East Africa before the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. I called customer service in October 2014 and asked if the policy would be in effect if the US State Dept issued a travel advisory for Tanzania. I called and spoke immediately with an agent. I was told that the policy would cover that possibility. Fortunately, Ebola is not an issue in Tanzania and our trip went without a hitch.
2. In 2012 we had a trip planned to Asia. Shortly before our departure, a health issue led to cancellation. After I submitted documentation, the policy quickly covered travel expenses in full according to the policy.
I am pleased with service and have continued to use it.

Recently, prior to making a Tin Leg claim I recommended it to two couples who have purchased policies. Over nearly two years I have suggested that people look at Squaremouth. Several have and ended up buying policies.
Depending on the outcome of our claim will determine whether I would make further recommendations.
My initial contact with Tin Leg learning how to file a claim has been positive. Our claim is due to illness forcing us to cancel Myanmar trip. Wait and see.

I submitted a claim on March 16th and received a response from Tin Leg on March 27th. I am very pleased with their rapid response. I am receiving checks covering our Myanmar tour interruption due to illness.
They have asked for additional documentation for the rebooking of our flight from Sinagpore to come San Francisco early. I am waiting their response.
I greatly appreciate that Squaremouth contacted me asking initially whether I was submitting a claim then following up to see if Tin Leg is fulfilling terms of the travel policy.
I have referred three other couples to Tin Leg and Squaremouth.

I would recommend Tin Leg for anyone looking for travel insurance. My trip was completed without interruption, and I am thankful that I did not have to file a claim. However, the peace of mind Tin Leg afforded me was worth it.

We had our baggage lost for six days going and 1 piece lost for 1 day returning. We went to Papua New Guinea and had to travel 4+ hours to retrieve our luggage on not very nice conditions and all they reimbursed us was $19.02 the actual money outlaid to travel to get our luggage. Not any reimbursement for doing without our things for 6 days or the time it took to retrieve them.
I was very dissapointed and would not use this insurance company again or recommend them to anyone else!!!!!

No strike coverage? Air France had a work dispute and cancelled our flight. Have your attorney read the cryptic policy and understand the doublespeak. When they have to explain to you how a strike is not covered you know the language is intentionally suited to not have to pay your claim. My parents where on the trip with us on the exact same flight yet bought Allianz and had no issue with their claim for the exact same flight and issue. Do trust this company or use their insurance. Maybe I am old but who ever heard of not covering an airline strike?
