Our flight from Bolivia to Miami was cancelled and rescheduled the next day. We had to rebook tickets on our connecting flights with another airline from Miami to Seattle and incurred a total of $1900 including "change fees". I am submitting all information to Travelex and waiting for their response.

My family of 4 had a flight from Bolivia to Miami which was cancelled causing us to miss our connection onto Seattle. We ended up paying over $1,800 to purchase new tickets along with a penalty. Berkshire Hathaway outlined well how I needed to document my claim. We were held up for 2 months trying to get a letter from the airline which cancelled our flight explaining what happened. But, once we submitted that letter, we had a check in our mail from Berkshire Hathaway for the full amount we paid. I couldn't believe it!

I recently traveled from NY to South Africa to meet my daughter who was there temporarily for work. We then spent a wonderful week+ traveling, including a safari at Pilanesberg. Initially, there was some fear that after booking my travel, her work plans would change resulting in bookings that I would not use. I purchased the travel insurance, "cancel for any reason" and the minute the purchase was completed I felt relieved that my travel investment was protected. Although I did not have any issues resulting in submission of a claim, the fact that I was also protected in so many other ways (lost luggage, medical, etc) was a factor in relieving any stress and leaving me free to just enjoy my experience. The cost was reasonable and the customer service reps were patient and informative.

The interaction with Travelex during the trip(3stars) was due to a call for assistance where I was put on hold for 22 minutes, costing €1 per minute (€22) on a phone borrowed from my hotel. Finally had to hang up with no progress... couldn’t tie up their phone any longer. Was requesting assistance when our flights were cancelled a day before departure. Our personal phones were not connecting in Ireland. My husband figured out a plan to get us to our destination independently, and at significant cost. We have required documentation for this part of our claim. Since back in the USA he has contacted Travelex and is filling out claim information. We are stuck on one item that they require; we need verification of why our flight was canceled. Our second scheduled return flight with TRANSAVIA never took off, and we didn’t receive any notification of a change before or after the flight time. Found out at the airport and had to again independently arrange our transportation at significant expense.
Since back in USA we have contacted Travelex and are filling out claim information. We are stuck on one item that they require; we need verification of why our flight was canceled. Our second scheduled flight with TRANSAVIA never took off, and we didn’t receive any notification of a change before or after the flight time. We requested documentation from Transavia and have been waiting a week with only an automated response saying they are very backed up and will get back to us. Sent a follow up email yesterday. We would like to complete this application to Travelex, but fear it will be complicated without that documentation.
My husband plans to contact Travelex on Monday, submit the claim anyway, and hopefully Travelex will talk to us about this problem, since we have all kinds of proof that we were scheduled on a flight that was cancelled or never existed.
I will happily complete a follow up review of Travelex once this is all settled, and expect they will find a way for us to positively resolve and complete this claim.

Excellent! ST followed up to offer assistance with any questions about filing a claim, and once submitted we had a response and refund promise for every cent we had submitted for coverage in about a week. Less than a week after that we received our complete reimbursement. I am recommending Square Mouth to all my traveling friends, and will definitely use for future trips. Thanks Square Mouth and Berkshire Hathaway!

Please reference your Confirmation Number, TBB75277, when submitting your additional documentation.
It is important to remember that insurance is highly regulated and to validate coverage completed claim forms and documentation are an important part of the claim process as it relates to the specific conditions as listed in the plan purchased.
