    We waited till the last minute to purchase travel insurance and Travelex was the only company that offered a policy on short notice. We bought a policy for $78 purely for medical evac coverage. Fortunately, we did not need to file a claim.

    Due to a heart attack on my husband's part, we had to cancel the trip to the Panama Canal. Travelex has been very easy to deal with, and we are waiting the results of the claim. I had chosen a policy that would allow cancellation for previous problems, but his heart was not the reason. It came up very suddenly a month before the trip was to leave. If my payment comes through OK, I would highly recommend this policy through Travelex for anyone else.

    I have come to trust Squaremouth policies completely. They always have reliable Insurance. Travelex was truly a pain to deal with, and didn't know or understand anything about even basic travel Insurance. Their advice was worthless. The actual insurance company, Berkshire Hathaway was amazing. Their agents were clear, articulate, effective, and fast. They followed through on everything they said. When my documents were in they paid the claim exactly when they said.

    Hard to say how helpful insurance interactions are until one needs to make a claim- that’s usually when insurance agencies try to do everything to not pay a claim

    Travel insurance is incredibly complicated!
    Travelex has good reviews, reasonably priced policies with good coverage, and knowledgeable sales agents. I'm pleased that I didn't have to make a claim, but I'm glad I had the coverage. Thanks,

    So far my experience has been excellent. I chose this option because of the mix of price and coverage that we needed for the family. We did have our bags delayed and had to scramble to get clothing for an event we had to attend on the first day. So far the interaction with Travelex has been very smooth.

    Overall great experience, wish we received a little more back as we are still out a good chunk of money sadly. However, the poccess was very easy and we do appreciate what we were able to get back because it could have been a much larger loss. Customer service was great and there were many options available for uploading the documents needed for the claim.

    We would like to take a moment to explain the Trip Interruption benefits for the Travel Select plan you purchased. If you are delayed or unable to continue your covered trip for one of the Trip Interruption covered reasons, the plan will reimburse you for the insured, unused, pre-paid, and non-refundable travel arrangements. The reimbursement could also include the additional transportation expenses incurred to reach the original trip destination or back home, after the Departure Date. The following Trip Interruption Benefits are located in the Travel Select Policy that was emailed to you at the time of purchase.

    Trip Interruption Benefits: The Company will reimburse You up to the Maximum Limit shown in the Schedule for Trips that are interrupted due to the Unforeseen events shown above for:

    - Unused portion of non-refundable pre-paid insured Trip Cost; and
    - additional transportation expenses incurred by You, either to the Return Destination; or from the place that You left the Trip to the place that You may rejoin the Trip; or
    - additional transportation expenses incurred by You to reach the original Trip Destination if the Insured is delayed and leaves after the Departure Date.

    However, the benefit payable under (b) and (c) above will not exceed the cost of economy airfare or the same class as the Insured’s original ticket, less any refunds paid or payable, by the most direct route.

    It is important to remember that insurance is highly regulated, and the Claim Administrator’s decision is based on the terms and conditions of the Policy and the available information. If you have additional documentation that the Claim Administrator did not already reimburse you for, please feel free to submit the additional documentation and they will gladly re-evaluate your claim.
