    It was peace of mind to have medical, dental and trip coverage while out of the country. It was very easy to interact with TravelSafe, customer service was very understanding in answering any questions I had PRIOR to purchase.

    I felt confident and secure with the insurance I chose. I got better insurance through squaremouth than from the cruiseline. I paid much less too. I will definitely purchase travel insurance again from squaremouth.

    Communication was very professional. They existed us with the process while in the hospital. And have checked on us since then. I am waiting for a question though is flowers of traveling back to Costa Rica in regard to pre-existing?

    It was Ok until I had to file a claim.
    The options were mail in or email. The download of the forms was easy. However sending the claim via their site turned out to be a hassle. Two or three days after I thought tat i sent the forms - I realized that that it sent only a cover letter and NOT the forms themselves. So I had to send everything from my personal email and only then it sowed up as received. Then I received the forms in the mail to add more confusion. By now I lost almost a week. So far it had been more than 10 days since they received my claim and in a phone conversation today they said it might take another 10 to 16 days!!!!

    It took for ever to get the claim processed. Even though it was small one (around $250) and they had all the docs clear and fully explanatory - it took more than a month and half to process it. As you'll see from the time line printout. Also- from the time the claim was posted on their web site 8/12 and it was acknowledged as received took them 11 days!!! (8/23) !!!

    Customer service was not updated and not very helpful. Every time I called I was told it would take another 10-14 days to process without a real reason to explain why.

    On the call on 9/14 I was told that the check has NOT yet been cut !! It'll take another 10-14 days. Same answer I got on 9-6-2016.

    Check has arrived 9/26!!!

    The good thing about the claim is that they paid it fully without any deductions or hassles. However, the process is long agonizing and not friendly.
    BTW: On 9/24 (just a day or two prior to receiving the check and more than a month after actually receiving the claim via their web site ) I got in the mail an acknowledgment that they received my claim and they will process it. !!!

    Travel Safe required an immense amount of documentation in support of the claims I filed (copies of passports showing entry and exit stamps for the country we visited, air receipts, lodging receipts, etc). All of this could be "technically" reasonable and necessary, but we'll see how Travel Safe responds.

    For example, they wanted bank or credit card receipts as proof that I paid for a policy with them. Instead, I sent them my receipt from Squaremouth. It should serve the same purpose. Will they accept it...I don't know! We'll see. As a consumer, I was ultimately left with the impression that Travel safe was giving themselves any/all possible pretexts to deny a claim or hassle you, if they so choose. We'll see if they do that. I hope not. I sent them pretty exhaustive and complete claims (no jokes - it took me HOURS to compile the photocopies they requested), And, my claim is SMALL - a $40 (USD) doctors visit, and a lost luggage claim for which they are only a secondary payee, after the airline pays out.

    Squaremouth should provide onsite information about how often or not your customers have been able to successfully file claims with an insurer, when filing a claim has been needed. That info seems almost as important as the price of the policy itself, and FYI, I use Squaremouth for all my travel insurance policy purchases.

    I didn't need to use the insurance, thankfully, so I really can't judge how good they are at helping you with claims. But the process of finding a policy that fit my needs and was not too expensive was made very easy by using Squaremouth.

    Getting answers to questions prior to the trip was very difficult. Different departments had different responses to a query about different aspects of coverage--the claims department responded that something was not covered, while the customer service team stated that it was, and the policy documents were unclear. I did not follow a claim, so my review is only based on my experience with the company pre-trip. I spent hours on the phone with them in the days prior to my trip trying to assess coverage answers. It's definitely on me for booking the insurance very close to my trip departure, and I should have talked to their customer service reps before booking rather than after, but I expected to receive simple answers as opposed to the run-around given the other positive reviews I have read about the company. I did finally get documentation to support the questions I was asking, but it took many calls to get there. In short, a very frustrating experience.
