For the safety of covering a major catastrophic event, it made sense to purchase a policy for a large scale trip for us. All was done via Internet, except when our travel plans were delayed a few days and call placed to insurance provider to change dates. Easily rectified with no consequences.

I had to change the date of our travel by one day, from Sunday to Sunday to Saturday departure and return. The process seemed more difficult than it needed to be.

Was entirely happy with our purchase and the help the service provider gave. I had a few questions, they were explained and I was able to make a decision as to what type of policy I wanted and purchased what I wanted covered. Though I didn't need to use the policy it is worth peace of mind knowing it was there. Previously I never purchased trip insurance, but after losing all my money for a cruise we were to take in two weeks due to my husband being almost killed in a car accident I feel it is worth the small amount of money to insure my trips so that I'm protected in this uncertain world. If you think it can't happen to you think again, just returned home from a cruise where I watched a women on board have to go to the hospital in Cozumel Mexico due to a fall, she ended up with a broken leg. This is not covered by the cruise, neither is needing to see the doctor on board the ship, so think again when you consider it a waste of money or you can be like me and learn the hard way. My husband made a full recovery but I was out the 2,000.00 dollars I had paid for the cruise.

I had two claims to file with TravelSafe. One was medical for a minor emergency medical condition which they paid promptly.
The other was for a theft of one of our Bose earphones which was taken out of my bag at the Chicago airport where we were transferring for our overseas trip. We weren't aware of what happened until we departed. We could not file a claim within the period they allowed because we were overseas. When we returned, we attempted to work with the airport security and Chicago PD to locate the individual who stole them (we had a good idea) before filing a claim. We were attempting to secure the video but they were very uncooperative. Had I known there was very limited time to file the claim, I wouldn't have spent time doing do diligence to track down the earphones. Instead, I would have just made insurance pay for it. It was a legitimate claim and should have been honored. I would never use TravelSafe again. Very disappointed..
