Purchased April travel Ins. on 9/4. On 9/6 it was apparent that we would be impacted by Hurricane Irma & would not be making our trip out to Nevada. I called April Travel to advise I was canceling the insurance. They told me to send a confirming email which I did as well. April Travel also told me they were closing the office that day in preparation for the hurricane. (So, I both telephoned & spoke with a "Susan", sent a confirming email & went on their website to fill out a cancellation form as well. After the hurricane I finally got thru by phone to the office. I was told that they were working thru a backlog of messages & my refund would be issued when they got to my messages.. I have called them numerous times only to get a busy signal. I did get thru once to a very curt "Mabel" who also informed me that my refund would be issued when they got to it (on 9-19-17).
I finally contacted my credit card company at the end of last week as I still had not seen the cancellation refund or gotten any communication from April Travel. I have disputed the charge as I cancelled well within the allotted time & as of 10/2/17 still have not had any response at all from April Travel.
I have used Squaremouth before & it has worked well. My experience with April Travel will make me re-think using Squaremouth next time.

Provided all (complete) info for claim and had been denied!!! Why did I purchase insurance if you could wiggle out of payment for a claim that is as valid as black and white and you have denied. Reading the policy coverage gave us a claim for reimbursement. Please take into consideration we paid for the policy the same day we applied and now you take advantage of us!!!!!!
William was declared unable to travel, asked that his portion be refunded................we then continued our trip and had a private tour paid for, the ship cancelled our port, were unable to use the tour, the cost to us was 1,900 E. We want a refund from this policy.

The claim did not follow all your advertising or the data that was in the insurance as purchased for the trip. It was quite plain that the company just didn't want to pay a claim.
The company also did not reimburse William for his payment when he gave amble notice of medical cancellation. Note; that Kerry had paid for insurance when he took William's place on the trip.

Paid with credit card same day of purchase, NO response now that we have a claim! Why have travel insurance??? Gave full details for claim and were declined coverage. Will write further comments to the company, Please read the coverage policy as we did when we purchased providing us with coverage if we had a claim, what kind of policy do you offer????
Purchased additional policy for William Joseph Vollenweider under separate cover, had to cancel his travel due to illness, asked for refund when we cancelled his travel and have been denied.

On day when emergency room care was required I tried all three of their 24-hr phone numbers. Over a period of 45 minutes none were answered. Proceeded to get transport and visited ER/ Next day contacted APRIL again and spoke with a rep in claims who put me on hold four times for 5-10 minutes each time. When I was asked to hold again, I asked if she could call me back as it was the formal dinnertime with the ship Captain. She said she would be happy to do so but never called back .
Five days later from home I called claims and spoke with a Manager. She expressed regret for the bad service and said she would look into it and email me claim forms that day. It has now been a week and I have not heard from her by phone or email. I realize that hurricane preparedness was going on in Miami where they are located.

Quick and easy claim process. Received payment within 30 business days. Of course this claim was pretty simple: My traveling companion came down with shingles a week prior to departure.
