    I did not have to submit a claim even though I was delayed at JFK due to a one hour and 45 minute delay in getting my luggage which caused me to miss my next flight. Air France put me up in a hotel and provided dinner. Therefore, I wasn't out any additional funds except for $30 in tips for help provided to me.

    Thankfully, once again, we didn't have to use the travel insurance. Nice to know we had it though.

    I filed a claim for $65. It took the insurance company 5 weeks to find a reason to deny the claim. While they were processing the claim they provided updates only when I prompted them with an email. Their denial of claim letter provided no information on appealing their decision. I am just thankful that this was a small claim. Avoid this company like the plague. I can only imagine the nightmare they would be to deal with for a large claim.

    I buy trip insurance to know that I will be covered while on my trip. I have never had to use it so far and for that I am glad. If you need it you always know that you will be covered and not have to worry while you are traveling.
