Apparently the $500.00 caused the policy go go into a higher 'bracket' which made the entire policy cost go up. Not fun to find that out after the original purchase.

After purchasing the policy online, I contacted them and was able to easily add rental car coverage for only the days I was actually renting the car (as opposed to the entire trip), which saved some $. I ended up with a rental car damage claim. The claims process was easy, no hassles, and payment of the claim was quick (about 4 weeks).
