This is not the experience I had but my fellow travelers (3) ended up using a different company as they were never able to reach a live person using the number I gave them. My experience with customer service was very good, the individuals were friendly and answered my many questions.

Claim process is very slow. I had emergency open heart surgery and we had to cancel back in July. Then we had to wait a month after contacting you before we could even file the claim.

24 hour assistance just referred me to the website to submit my own claim. After submitting my claim a week ago no response.

I have spoken with our claims team for an update on your claim. I understand our team sent you a request to schedule a claim interview on 9/5/2023. Once that claim interview is scheduled and completed, we will begin processing your claim.
I have also asked a member of our team to resend the claim interview email. A new email will be sent this morning.

Your representatives were helpful in explaining the policy in general and answered all my questions. Thankfully we remained healthy during our trip and did not need to use the policy but we had peace of mind that it was there if needed. We felt it gave us good coverage for the price if it was needed and allowed us the flexibility to return home if needed. We especially liked the part that allowed us to return home/cancel the rest of our trip if my elderly mom needed us. Will use you again when traveling outside the US.

While we were already in Norway, Havila Coastal Cruises cancelled out trip. We actually thought it was a phishing email at first looking for our credit care number. But no it was not. I did not know what to do as Havila's business office was closed for the next 48 hours. I called Tin Leg and was told to call another phone number who told me this was not the correct dept. either. I sent an email and got a response back from a R. Root who suggested I work this out with the cruise line.
We couldn't find another coastal trip that went that day and so we did manage to change our itinerary but could not get north. The plane tickets from the end point, Trondheim to Stockholm were now useless. We have been trying to get Havila to reimburse us for them, but so far we have had no luck or response.
We did get them to reimburse us for the Cruise itself. There were a lot of additional expenses incurred by the change of itinerary and last minute bookings. We feel that the trip insurance representative should have helped us figure out our next steps and tell us what kind of reimbursement we can receive for the cancellation/interruption.
Can we get reimbursed at least for the unused flights from the end of cruise location. Is there anyone at Tin Leg who is willing to help us with this?
