As a first time insurance purchaser I have no yard stick for measuring the level of service. Agents were responsive and helpful when I needed information. They got me additional information within 24 hours of talking on the phone. Overall my experience was good.

Very disappointed user from CA Verified Squaremouth Customer

If there are negative stars I would give -10 stars.

Provider TravelSafe is a terrible insurer and purposely delaying paying claims even way past the CA department of insurance required dead line for insurance company to pay claims.
Squaremouth team was not reliable in term of helping the claim. The team member was supposed to get back to me in the following week and never contacted me. I had to call the team member and remind her about my claim.
Then she said she will call back by a certain day but did not call until passed that week.
I will never use the service again and would not recommend any one to use your service.
    It's a terrible experience.

I usually get my travel insurance through Square Mouth. they are always very helpful. When I needed to update my departure date, it was difficult to get TravelSafe to update it. Eventually it was Squaremouth who was able to take care of it for me.

I am waiting for the travel agency in England to send/email the necessary paper work to file this claim.

We contacted the emergency number listed on our plan. Keith was very nice, however all he could tell us was to contact a claims representative. We tried to contact a claims representative, however the wait was so long we had to disconnect the call. We were calling from the country of Turkey. Our final decision was to get home and deal with the insurance issues later. This was a true emergency, could have resulted in death if we had waited any longer.

I had to change the dates of my policy as the original trip had been cancelled by the company, and I went on a different one a week later. There were no problems changing the dates, and although I wasn't able to get the electronic version of the new contract, they did send a paper copy in the mail.

We have filed claims for missed connection and travel delay, and our claim has been acknowledged. The travel service they advise to contact when the customer is travelling is a joke. Not helpful at all. We were able to make alternative arrangements independently when our flights mis-connected in Dallas on our way to Santiago, Chile.

The only reason i haven't given 5 stars is that it took nearly a month to complete the claim. That seems like too long, but they paid everything I asked for and without any questions or need for additional information.

Going through their claim process has not been that easy since it was difficult to get a hold of them on the phone. I went ahead and filled out everything on line which also was not the easiest or straight forward.

Our experience is a good example of how TravelSafe can save your trip -- even if you never need to file a claim.

A few days into a month-long trip, I was hit by a recurrence of a sinus infection and within a couple of days had lung involvement (my breathing could be heard across a room). We were in a city of 26,000 in Norway, ticketed to board a ship heading north after one more day in town.

I called the 24-hour line in the early evening. Staff did a good job of triage and support, established that I didn't need a hospital, and enlisted their Norwegian 24-hour contractor, who started calling clinics first thing the next morning. By mid-day we were at a local GP clinic, where we were worked in to see a physician who had excellent English and fine clinical skills. He wrote four prescriptions which we filled at a nearby pharmacy. With timely treatment, I improved rapidly and we traveled for three more weeks with no interruption. I'll never travel without a policy again.

I'm not filing a claim because the exam, labwork, and pharmacy totaled about $60 USD. A policy for both of us had cost less than $300. If I had the same episode at home, the same exam, lab, and meds would have cost me close to that much (even with insurance), and getting a same-day appointment in December would have been iffy.
