    Generali insured a family member on a different trip. They had a significant health occurrence that led to an unexpected hospitalization in a foreign country. Generali took great care of them. When we scheduled our trip, we would not have insured ourselves with any other company! Gratefully, we did not have any issues on our trip and the insurance is unclaimed, but we will insure with Generali on any future trips.

    Called Generali, opted for call back which never came.

    Generali has some serious red tape, like you must fill in sections that are irrelevant to your claim. My suitcases where damaged but I had to file for theft. Then they treat a claim as two different claims. My luggage was 4 days delayed and damaged, that is two claims in their universe and you have to repeat the safe questions. I will choose differently next time.

    I chose Generalize Global Assistance for the coverage and cost. I read EVERYTHING and all fine print so I knew exactly what was and would be covered. I did clarify that prior approval WAS needed in some circumstances which was important to know. I read ALL of the customer reviews and ratings. I spoke to customer service many times to get answers and clarification. What I concluded is that it is very easy to purchase travel insurance, customer service varies and the proof is in the pudding. You really don’t know how good the company policy is until you submit a claim and responses to that claim can vary tremendously. Most people who were satisfied with the policy did not have a reason to make a claim and thus were happy because they felt safer. Many people submitting claims had to work hard and wait many months to get some or any reimbursement. My personal opinion is that it’s a **** shoot and only worth the money if you really have an issue. Just like most insurance these days.

    Basically no help if you're in Europe with a Rick Steve's tour group and contract covid there is no place to go to get proof. Europe does not want to deal with Americans. I am still going to file a claim but I doubt anything will happen, this probably was a waste of money.

    I unfortunately had to cancel at the last minute due to a medical problem. I was able to work with Generalli and received my entire claim. I gave 4 stars for the experience as there was some confusion on their end as to which of their agents was handling my claim. But it all worked out and each person I personally spoke with was very helpful and polite

    A week before I was to leave I injured my back and didn’t think I would be able to go. However, I received care from my chiropractor and also a prescription from my Doctor and fingers crossed, I took off and ended up doing just fine. I had a wonderful trip in spite of the 6.8 earthquake that occurred while I was in Morocco. I’m home now, safe and happy. I didn’t need to file a claim but it was comforting to know that I had the insurance.

    After reporting the claim on the phone to your representative, and explaining that delays involved in our trip, the rental car expense, the lost baggage the delayed flights your representative hung up on me

    I give Generali Global Assistance 2 stars overall.

    I sent in a trip delay claim over 3 months ago. After two months of badgering, they came back and asked for an official letter from the airline. After that was submitted, a month later they are asking for more information. It seems they are using a delay tactic so as to not pay a claim. The premiums may be cheaper but you will have a hard time getting a claim paid. My son used Zurich and he had a check within 6 weeks - and they apologized for the delay.
